My artistic background is in Printmaking, where my work was figurative story telling.

I also made dolls based on my family members which would often end up in one of my prints.

My jewellery seems to be the opposite, though you may see bones or flowers or crosses, I am not telling you what to see.

The work is predominately materials led, whether using silver, bronze, pewter, paper or twigs. I like to see how it reacts to being folded, torn, broken, bashed and melted. It does its own thing with just a small amount of guidance from me.

My first instinct is to doodle and notice what is in there, Much the same as I stared at our coal fire as a child, looking for shapes in the flames and hot coals.

For me the key is experimentation and then going with the flow, literally.
